The Grid Tie Solar Power System – How does it work?
When it comes to residential solar power system, there are 3 main types that are commonly used: Grid-Tie System, Off-Grid System and Hybrid System.
The Grid Tie system, as the name suggests, is a system that connects the solar power directly to the grid that feeds the house (electricity providers like NORECO, MERALCO, etc.). This system is also known as “On-Grid” or “Grid-Tied”. This system is composed mainly of Solar panels and an Inverter – no batteries involved.
The inverter will convert the DC (direct current) generated by the solar panels to AC (Alternative Current) and inject it to the grid that feeds the house.
